Sole incursion from Adelphi on Aberfeldy’s lands, it is a relatively young version but which was already bottled nearly 20 years ago. A little return to the past for a rather unknown distillery…
Nose : If the alcohol can still be felt, we have a lot of honey but most of all some royal jelly and a lot of citrus fruit (lemon which lingers on its citric part). This duo comes with milked white bread, mineral notes (cold stone) and green pepper scents. The water allows to calm the alcohol at nose without making the profile really move.
Mouth : You can sense the alcohol but the profile is still very charming. We begin by an abundance of royal jelly. In the follow-up, we get honey, pastry cream before the citrus fruits come in (fresh lemon) whereas the green pepper comes back, holding the explosion we get in mouth. We also gain minerality, which brings it from a very round whisky to a subtle discretion.
Finish : Average but the persistence is excellent. With water, the finish becomes really long and we get some orange tree leaf. We are on a lemon-green pepper finish whereas the aftertaste gets back on the honey and the pastry cream.
