Nose : We have some rather heavy notes coming to the nostrils. Leather, bacon, white ham (with the greasy side of the rink). Beside this meaty print, we find some overripe apple (good presence), some lemon-tree honey and geranium scents. The opening offers some undergrowth tones (dead leaves), caramelized malt. We also have a few hints of dark cherry, roasted sesame and walnut oil. With the opening, it freshens and takes us on an even more atypical profile. We have then some green tea, ginseng and ginger with a dash of orange juice, the whole in small quantities. Finally, we have a little white pepper return. Without being dirty (it stays pretty straight), it clearly stands out.
Mouth : The texture is beautiful with a collegiate-working trio all along the mouth : white ham – overripe apple – walnut. This notes are pretty precise which gives it instantaneously a lot of character. Concerning the punctual flavors, we begin with some black pepper, malt, honey and then we go on lemon, ginger and once again on green tea notes. The aromatic amplitude is pretty good and it’s an easy-drinking dram, where you never sense the alcohol. Whats more, the balance is clearly here.
Finish : If there is something to regret, it’s during this finale. It is pretty good, but sets back on the amplitude part. The persistence is correct but without great power. We then have more lemon, white ham and apples.
