We spoke about it last month, the Arran distillery just released a 9000 bottles limited bottling of a 17 years old whisky. This one helps us wait until the release of the new permanent release for the distillery, the 18 years old, scheduled for June 2015. Let’s see how it goes…
Nose : At first, soft varnish and candied oranges notes. Pretty complex and interesting. Honey, wood. Then, a sweet wave takes the upper hand with, as a main note, Reine-Claude. The fragrances are round and powerful.
Mouth : A lot of body, sugar, plum, orangettes (candied orange and dark chocolate), spices, notable cinnamon. A very well made mouth, very rich. A flavor explosion.
Finish : It is its weak spot ! Pretty short on spices and yellow fruits, with a steel note quite persistent.
