Aultmore is a Speyside distillery born at the end of the 19th century. The British from Master of Malt give us the opportunity to taste a single cask, very young and very vigorous (more than 65%). Does this ardor pay up?
Nose : It’s very milky. We feel like we’re facing a mango yogurt with green apple, papaya and a bit of menthol. It then is lifted up by walnuts and hazelnuts (without it being invading) but also by caramelized fruits. The water adds pastry features. The nose is really very beautiful and very identifiable.
Mouth : It possesses a nice amplitude with bitter almonds, dried apricots, a bit of grain to which a spice bouquet is added. The alcohol is powerful and water seems necessary. It doesn’t really change much regarding the flavors. A convincing and mastered result with a beautiful intensity.
Finish : It is long and perfectly keeps the profile perceived in mouth.
